We believe the biggest impact we have on the community is in the area of local recruitment and environmental management and mitigation.
Our human resource strategy supports the Ministry of Manpower’s Omanisation Plan. This is executed through recruiting fresh graduate engineers from the local colleges and taking them through a structured training programme including on-the-job exposure and apprenticeship. We collaborate with Technical Institutions to promote curriculum that builds skillsets of the local youths. We also support regional social development activities that encourage and create awareness on social issues.
We are committed to ensuring all aspects of the business are conducted with the utmost respect to the environment through responsible practices and procedures. We commissioned an environmental impact assessment study in 2010. The study included a review of the environmental impact of our plant on the local community, as well as a social impact management plan which we implemented. The company is committed to protecting the environment through our stipulated environment management programme and operates within the limits of the environmental legislations.
