Tan Cheng Guan

Chairman

Mr Tan is Executive Vice President, Office of the Group President & CEO at Sembcorp Industries Limited. He leads the development of Sembcorp’s water business and is also Chairman of Sembcorp China, providing strategic guidance to the business.
He is also chairman of Sembcorp’s Climate Change Working Committee, and drives the company’s performance towards climate-related metrics and targets, overseeing key initiatives such as risk mitigation, opportunities, and greenhouse gas mitigation.

Mr Tan pioneered the early development of Sembcorp’s utilities business on Jurong Island in Singapore. He was instrumental in leading the Group’s entry into the renewables business, and also led the company’s business expansion in China, India, the UK, the Middle East, Myanmar and Bangladesh. He has held various senior appointments in Sembcorp, including the Head of Business Development as well as Head of Group Centre of Excellence.
Possessing broad experience in engineering, strategy, business and project development for the utilities and energy industry, Mr Tan has worked in Shanghai, London, Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak.
Mr Tan holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) from the University of Liverpool, UK, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, USA.

Kalat Al-Bulooshi

Deputy Chairman

Mr. Kalat Al Bulooshi is the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Investment Corporation SAOC (OIC), an Oman based private equity investment company established in 2005.

Mr. Al Bulooshi has significant greenfield development experiences and have executed a number of large projects and investments in manufacturing, engineering services, petrochemicals, insurance, education and real-estate. 

He is currently chairman of one of the largest development project in Oman, Khazaen Economic City. Kalat also served on the board of a number of companies in Oman such as Galfar, Sembcorp Salalah and others. Prior to that he worked on project delivery in PDO, Sohar Port and Sohar Aluminium in Oman, Italy and Canada.

Mr Bulooshi holds an engineering honours degree from the UK. He has completed an Advanced Management Programme at Wharton Business School in the States and is a Wharton Alumni.

Vipul Tuli

Non-Executive Director

Vipul Tuli oversees Sembcorp Group’s investments and key stakeholder relationships in India and Bangladesh. He is concurrently the CEO of Sembcorp’s global Hydrogen Business and the group’s operations in the Middle East. He has been with Sembcorp since 2015 in various capacities, including as CEO and Country Head, India, and as Managing Director of Sembcorp’s renewables and thermal businesses in India.

In addition, Mr. Tuli chairs the Power Committee at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Hydrogen Working Group at the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS).

Mr. Tuli has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector, spanning across upstream oil and gas, fuel management, power generation to marketing and distribution. He has also advised government institutions on issues of energy policy, organisation, industry structure, and regulations. Prior to joining Sembcorp, Mr. Tuli was a Senior Partner with McKinsey & Company, where he helped to build and lead its Asian energy practice.

Mr. Tuli holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He completed his post graduate studies in business management from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

Tariq Al Amri

Independanat Non-Executive Director

Mr. Al Amri is one of four independent directors of Sembcorp Salalah and is the Chairman of the Audit Committee.

He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah), a company with the objective of transforming the solid waste management sector in Oman. Prior to joining Oman Environmental Services, Mr. Al Amri held a number of key positions in Oman Telecommunications Company, Oman LNG and the Royal Office Pension Fund.

Mr. Al Amri has experience in the telecoms and oil and gas sectors and successfully negotiated a number of major commercial agreements while at Oman Telecommunications, in addition to taking a role in Omantel’s IPO in 2005. At Oman LNG he was involved in the economic and financial feasibility studies of a project which has evolved into Qalhat LNG.

Mr. Al Amri holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Temple University, USA and an MBA from the University of Dayton, USA.

Ahmed Al Bulushi

Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr. Al Bulushi is one of four independent directors of Sembcorp Salalah and is a member of the Audit Committee.

He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Oman National Transport Company “Mwasalat”. Prior to joining “Mwasalat”, Mr. Al Bulushi held a number of key positions in the Royal Court Affairs the last was the Director of Internal Audit where he is responsible for the operation of the risk management, control and governance systems.

In addition to Sembcorp Salalah, Mr. Al Bulushi is also a director and member of the Audit Committee of Oman National Engineering and Investment Company SAOG.

Mr. Al Bulushi holds an Information Technology degree and a Master of IT Management from Bond University, Australia.

Hussein Abdul Redha Al Lawati

Mr Hussein Abdul Redha Al Lawati has over 23 years of experience in global financial markets. He is currently the Director of Investments at Diwan of Royal Court Pension Fund, having lead role in managing asset allocation strategy for multi-asset class investments in global markets. Prior to joining the Pension Fund, he was Executive Director at Horizons Capital Markets. He has worked with leading investment firms including National Investment Company, Kuwait and Vision Investment Services, Oman. His experience includes overseeing investments in public & private equity, fixed income, real estate & alternatives and funds.

He is the Chairman of Alruwad International School, Oman. In addition, he serves as Board member of Shumookh Investment Services SAOC, Oman Hospitality Company SAOC (Kempinski, Oman) and Oryx Fund. He is member of Investment Committee at Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

 

His academic credentials include CFA Charter holder from CFA Institute, USA and MSc Finance, from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK

Yap Siew Leng

Non-Executive Director

Ms. Yap Siew Leng is Group Financial Controller of Sembcorp Industries. She oversees the Group’s Financial Control and planning function, which include group reporting & policies, financial planning & analysis, finance shared services and financial process excellence.

Ms. Yap has more than 25 years of work experience with 14 years in the Oil and Gas industry. Prior to Sembcorp, she had held key finance leadership positions at Subsea7 and as Group Financial Controller at an SGX listed corporation.

Ms. Yap is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants U.K. and a Member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

Abdullah Mohammed Ali Al Ma’mari

Mr. Abdullah Al Ma’mari is an Assistant Director of Investment in Ministry of Defence Pension Fund. He has good experience in evaluating and analyzing investment in local and foreign markets. He is mainly responsible for managing a foreign investment in global market for Ministry of Defence Pension Fund.

Mr. Al Ma’mari holds bachelor’s degree in finance from Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat.

Ahmed Ali Al Moosawi

Mr. Ahmed Ali Al Moosawi is a finance professional. He started his career in 2013 as derivative officer in Bank Muscat. He is currently working in Civil Service Employees Pension Fund as Acting Head of Treasury Management Section in Finance Department.

Mr. Al Moosawi holds Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Majan College, University of Bedfordshire, UK.
