Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company developed, owns and operates an electricity generation and seawater desalination plant, the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant, located in Wailyat Mirbat in Oman.

The Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant has a Power Capacity of 445 megawatts and desalinated water capacity of 15 MIGD. The Operations and maintenance of the Plant is managed by Sembcorp Salalah O & M Services Company LLC

The Company invites suitably qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the following positions:

1. Position: Operations Manager:

Profile of the Position: The candidate shall be responsible for planning and execution of Safe
Operations of Power and Water Plant. Meeting the system demand at high efficiency. Timely recovery of plant from outages. Understanding of Plant conditions, equipment behavior and liaise with maintenance for immediate corrective measures. Maintaining Plant reliability, improvement in heat rate, fuel consumptions. Managing PTW system for safe working environment in the Plant. Carrying out investigation on plant defects/outages and taking corrective measures. Training the staff for carrying out their duties/multitasking. To carry out re-commissioning tests on plant after overhaul. To conduct on the job training schedules, safety briefings to subordinates to enable them to handle jobs independently and safely. To conduct MOM inspection of boilers and HRSG and engaging with MOM for compliance of mandatory inspection and modification or repair works on MOM specified area. Conducting Performance Tests successfully.
Essential requirements: The candidate should minimum hold a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and must have at least 6 years’ experience in a power plant with hands on Operations or Maintenance experience. Should be able to communicate well in English and Arabic, knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage

2. Position: Information Technology Manager (IT Manager):

Profile of the Position: The candidate should manage planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems as per company requirements, Undertake to manage the Company IT activities to provide necessary support to the Departments and the stakeholder for smooth functions. Review and update IT policies and procedures as per company needs. Implement and follow-ups with Cyber Security and Data Protection Systems or any other systems require from the GIT. Supervise and oversee IT staff to ensure tasks assigned are completed promptly within approved budget
Carry out security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks. Responsible to cover all of the Plant Security to maintain the standard of the company.
Essential requirements: The candidate should have Post-graduate/ Bachelor’s in Information Technology or related discipline and minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT and Administration. Key skills as analytical and problem solving skills, strong technical skills, ability to work well under pressure, attention to detail, team working skills, organization and time management, Management and leadership skills and interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate Should be able to communicate well in English and Arabic, knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
